Brief Bio of Donald Knuth

Certainly one of the most revered of Computer Science's "founding fathers" is Donald Knuth, author of The Art of Computer Programming and the TeX document typesetting language. This month's Stanford Magazine ran a beautiful biography of Knuth, which briefly outlines his personality and achievements. It's a good read, and makes me hope that he will have many more years with us.

thanks for the link Levi - good read! "Something is elegant, he says, if it is spare, memorable and pleasingly symmetrical; if it has the ease and immortal ring of an E=mc2. Therein lies the art in computer programming."

Glad you enjoyed it. I need to pick up tAoCP one of these days and get a little more familiar with it. I'd also like to see what he has to say in his books dealing with religion.
